The pre-financing scheme allows you to install your photovoltaic system without having to advance the full amount of the costs. Instead of waiting for the subsidy to be reimbursed after the works are completed, part of the subsidy is deducted directly from your final invoice. The installer is then reimbursed by the Ministry of the Economy. In addition to reducing the upfront payment required, pre-financing also simplifies your administrative steps, as the installer manages the entire reimbursement procedure. This mechanism makes it easier to launch a PV project while limiting your initial investment.
Subject to finalisation of the legislative procedure.
Conditions and operation of pre-financing for the installation of solar panels on residential buildings
Pre-financing is intended for property owners wishing to install photovoltaic panels on a residential building. It can be applied to installations with or without a home battery (excluding stand-alone batteries).
To benefit from the scheme, you must opt for self-consumption and waive the guaranteed feed-in tariff for selling surplus electricity.
Only installers registered in the official list of companies authorised to use the pre-financing procedure may submit the request. When signing the offer, you simply grant the company a mandate to benefit from pre-financing.
How does pre-financing of solar installations work?
The process is straightforward. After selecting an authorised installer, you will receive an offer that includes the pre-financing option. Once the works have been completed, the installer issues the final invoice and automatically deducts:
- any deposits you may have paid (within the pre-financing framework, all payments made before the final invoice are considered deposits; the total amount may not exceed 30 % of the projected final price incl. VAT as stated in the signed offer),
- the amount of the Klimabonus subsidy.
You only pay the remaining balance.
The installer then submits the reimbursement request to the Ministry of the Economy. Once the application has been processed, you will receive confirmation of the amount granted.
Deadlines to observe to benefit from pre-financing
To remain eligible:
• The installer’s offer must be signed before 31.12.2029,
• The reimbursement request must be submitted before 31.12.2031.
These deadlines ensure that the application can be processed within the regulatory timeframe.
